"It is my honor and pleasure to serve as the 2024 President of The J.L. Turner Legal Association. Our esteemed organization was founded in 1952, formerly known as "The Barrister's Club", and has reached over 70 years in existence.

Our Founders' mission to improve the quality of life for our community, resonates today as we live in the times of attacks on diversity, equity and inclusion, attacks on affirmative action, and attacks on the livelihood of minority citizens. As a member of JLTLA, you are a part of history, and we encourage you to get involved as a mentor, committee chair, or future board member.

We are an affiliate chapter of both the Dallas Bar Association and the National Bar Association. Our members are leaders in both larger organizations and are trailblazers in our legal community. We urge you to also join those organizations as we partner with them on a Regional and National level to answer the call to service."

‍Six months ago, Gloria Cangé made the bold move from Chicago to Dallas to join Lynn Pinker Hurst & Schwegmann as a litigation associate. Since then, she has wasted no time becoming an integral part of the Dallas community!As a Director on the JLTLA Board, a member of the 2024 Dallas Association of Young Lawyers Leadership Class, and an active participant in Dallas Bar Association events, Gloria is already making a significant impact.Her passion for community and belief in the importance of representation led her to join JLTLA—where the leadership of a Black Madam President was an opportunity she couldn’t pass up. Gloria is excited to collaborate with the Board to bring meaningful initiatives to life and build on JLTLA’s incredible legacy.
