JLTLA Leadership Program
The J.L. Legal Turner Legal Association is seeking to establish future Bar leaders through its pipeline to leadership program.  The Leadership Academy will be limited to a class of twelve students who will be trained on Bar leadership, presentation, networking, time management, and community involvement. Please submit your application today for the JL Turner Leadership Program.

Deadline to apply is May 17, 2024.
Eligibility: Must be a rising 2L or 3L (as of Fall 2024) enrolled at Texas A&M University School of Law, Southern Methodist University School of Law,
or University of North Texas School of Law and an active BLSA member.

Commitment: Must attend Networking Mixer (8/2/24), Leadership Class (8/3/24), at least two JLTLA Board meetings per semester, and participate in at least one JLTLA Mentorship event.

Semaj Garrett is a remarkable attorney who practices Criminal Defense, Personal Injury, and Employment Law, offering her clients an exceptional blend of empathy and tenacity. Semaj's approach revolves around delivering excellent client service, recognizing the uniqueness of each case and tailoring strategies accordingly, and navigating legal hurdles with grace, passion, and dedication to instill confidence in her clients.

Semaj's journey from Fort Worth to Arlington, and ultimately earning her law degree from the University of North Texas at Dallas College of Law, reflects her unwavering commitment and determination. As a first-generation college graduate and Doctor of Jurisprudence, her academic achievements underscore her resilience and grit in overcoming obstacles, inspiring all. Passionate about Criminal Justice from an early age, Semaj's dedication is evident in her simultaneous pursuit of a Criminal Justice degree while working full-time for a Fortune 500 Company. Before founding The Garrett Law Office, Semaj gained experience defending national insurance companies and representing large corporations in business and employment matters. This helped her solidify her expertise in the field. However, her true passion for advocating for individuals and small businesses was reignited after she received training from one of Dallas's best criminal defense attorneys and attended the Tim Evans Texas Criminal Trial College. This shift aligned more closely with her values, reflecting her desire to use her legal expertise to serve her community.
