Join the members of JLTLA for the Annual Meeting of the Board of Directors and the Annual Meeting of Members, where the dues-paid attorney members of JLTLA shall elect directors and officers of the organization for 2011. All attorney members in good standing, as defined by the Bylaws, will be eligible to vote so make sure you have paid dues for 2010, or have a check with you to pay 2010 dues if you would like to participate in the voting. Also, Please join us for a FUN FUN Pre-Meeting Social at 5:30 P.M.  Complimentary drink tickets will be provided. Attorney Volunteers Needed for Legal Lines

JLTLA Attorneys needed to staff Legal Lines Clinic at Belo Mansion, Wednesday September 15, 2010 
JLTLA is in charge of staffing the Legal Lines clinic at the Belo Mansion on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  We are in need of attorney volunteers (especially attorneys familiar with Family Law and Criminal Law), so if you are able to volunteer (even if only for thirty minutes or an hour) please e-mail Aliaquanda Derrick at aderrick@jw.com or Mandy Price Brown at mandy.price.brown@weil.com. Staffing the clinic is really fun and dinner (plus beer and wine) is provided for the attorneys who volunteer.  If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact Aliaquanda or Mandy.   

JLTLA Mentoring Committee Happy Hour

JLTLA Mentoring Committee's Practice-Area Cocktail Hour: September 23, 2010
The JLTLA Mentoring Committee is hosting its second mentoring event of the year  – “Practice-Area Cocktail Hour.”  David Godsey aka “I Just Got Hit.Com” has so graciously agreed to host this event.  It will take place on Thursday, September 23, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at The Godsey Law Firm, 2717 McKinney Avenue, Dallas , TX 75204.

The setup will consist of tables labeled and divided by attorneys’ practice areas (e.g. Employment Law, Criminal Defense, Solo Practitioner, In-House, Government Attorney, Non-Legal Profession, Patent Law, General Litigation, etc.) and the mentees will be able to visit each table (similar to a job fair) and meet with the attorneys.  There will also be Jason’s Deli sandwiches, chips, cookies, water, soda, beer and wine. This event will be extended to both SMU and Texas Wesleyan law students through their BLSA representatives.  If you would like to attend, please RSVP to khouston@cecentertainment.com no later than SEPTEMBER 13, 2010.
