IN-HOUSE COUNSEL POSITION AT ENERGY FUTURE HOLDINGS IN DALLAS, TX (APRIL 2010)
The Energy Future Holdings' Legal Department's goal is to provide timely, quality and cost-effective legal services to help Energy Future Holdings Corporation and its subsidiaries ("EFH") meet their business objectives. The Legal Department is a demanding and dynamic environment of approximately 20 attorneys and a support staff of assistants and paralegals. A great deal of substantive work will be done in-house including litigation. This position will provide counsel and litigation support in matters related to labor and employment law. The successful candidate will have strong client interfacing skills and a commitment to responsive service. This position will be based in Dallas, Texas. Requirements Juris doctorate, a membership in the Bar of at least one state and ability to become licensed in Texas within 1 year 4 - 5 years of substantial legal experience in labor/employment matters within a well established law firm and/or corporate legal department. Excellent oral and written communication skills; acute attention to detail. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including diplomacy and flexibility, and the ability to interface effectively with personnel at many different levels throughout EFH. Achievement in designing and leading training for clients in labor and employment law. Enthusiasm and self-starter qualities enabling him or her to manage responsibilities with an appropriate sense of urgency; the ability to function effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Demonstrated skill in utilizing Internet resources to research legal and business issues; experience with MS Word, PowerPoint and other information -oriented computer applications helpful but not required.
