City of Dallas Seeks Applicants for Full-Time & Associate Judges for Municipal Court:
The City of Dallas is seeking qualified attorneys to fill full-time and associate (part-time) judge positions for its Municipal Court of Record to serve a two-year term. Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
Ø be a resident of the State of Texas;
Ø be a resident of the City of Dallas;
Ø be a citizen of the United States;
Ø be a licensed attorney in good standing with the State Bar of Texas; and
Ø have two (2) or more years of experience in the practice of law in Texas; and
Ø shall reside in the city of Dallas within four months after the date of appointment and throughout his or her term as a municipal judge for the city of Dallas.
Applicants must not have any outstanding delinquent City of Dallas financial obligations and must not be a party or attorney in any lawsuit against the City of Dallas. Applicants for full-time judge positions may also apply to be considered as the Administrative Judge, responsible for the proper administration of the City of Dallas Municipal Court of Record. Applicants bilingual in Spanish are encouraged to apply. The current annual starting salary for full-time judges is $ 88,280 for those with less than two (2) years of service as a Dallas municipal court judge and $99,206 for those with two (2) or more year’s service, plus benefits. Annual salary for the Administrative Judge is $107,100, plus benefits. Associate judges are paid $42.44 per hour for those with less than two (2) years of service as a Dallas municipal court judge and $47.69 per hour for those with two (2) or more years of service.
